The Academy Museum Gala, one of the most star-studded events of the year, has found its 2026 honorees in Charlize Theron, Colman Domingo and filmmaker John Carpenter.
The event, which serves as a major fundraising evening for the Academy Museum, will take place on Oct. 17, with Robert Rodriguez, Steven Spielberg and Kate Capshaw as co-chairs. Theron will receive the Icon Award, celebrating an artist whose career has had a significant global impact, and Domingo will get the Vantage Award, honoring an artist who is helping to challenge dominant narratives around cinema. Carpenter will be presented with the Luminary Award, given to an artist whose singular contributions have expanded the creative possibilities of filmmaking.
