Nintendo has released a fresh firmware update for its Switch and Switch 2 consoles, adding VRR support while playing Switch 2 in TV mode.
The ability to toggle on VRR, or variable refresh rate, will of course also rely on your TV supporting this feature. Still, if it does, you'll be able to toggle this on — though bear in mind you'll also just need to activate an update to your Switch 2's dock first. (Finally, Welcome Tour's VRR minigame will be fully playable!)

Vertical has acquired U.S. distribution rights to “Sanctuary,” an English-language, post-apocalyptic thriller starring “The Handmaid’s Tale’s” Nina Kiri.
According to the synopsis, “Sanctuary” is set on a post-apocalyptic Earth, where the discovery of a cryogenically suspended woman provokes fear in a desperate village, sending a young warrior and the mysterious woman on a quest for a lost city and answers that could restore humanity.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake for Nintendo Switch 2 is coming in November, and when preorders went live, we saw tons of traffic a preorders go through. Suffice to say this is going to be a huge game. To go along with it, Nintendo is also releasing a pair of amiibo figures: Young Link and Young Zelda. Both cost $24.99 and have gone up for preorder at several retailers. However, they’re selling out fast, so don’t hesitate to lock in a preorder if you find one in stock. They don’t have specific release dates yet, but Nintendo says they’ll be out sometime in 2027.

Andrew Garfield has said he hopes that any billionaires who see his new movie, The Uprising, are “scared s**tless” by it.
The former Spider-Man actor spoke about The Uprising as part of a Q&A alongside director Paul Greengrass ahead of the movie’s launch this week. The Uprising depicts the Peasants' Revolt of 1381, which was fueled by King Richard II’s brutal tax on the poorest members of English society. Garfield plays Ploughman, a farmer who leads the rebellion. Some of the marketing has suggested it’s a Robin Hood origin story. The Uprising is even a game within Fortnite.
