Viola Davis and Julius Tennon’s JuVee Productions has inked a first-look deal with Universal Global Television (UGT), Variety has learned.

Under the deal, JuVee will develop projects for UGT across all platforms. First up, the company is developing the romantic drama “Pawn,” based on an original short story by Kennedy Ryan (“Before I Let Go,” “Score”) with Chantelle M. Wells (“Daredevil: Born Again,” “Yellowjackets”) attached to write. Davis, Tennon, and JuVee Productions’ head of TV, Andrew Wang, all executive produce along with Wells and Ryan.

Geena Davis to Play Serial Killer Dorothea Puente in True Crime Drama Developing at HBO

HBO is developing a true crime drama series titled “Dorothea” based on the story of ’80s serial killer Dorothea Puente.

Geena Davis has been cast in the title role and executive produces alongside showrunner Joshua Michael Stern. Michael Rosenbaum and Jeff Frost also executive produce, with Rosenbaum having pitched the project to Frost’s Bristol Circle Entertainment, which later sold it to HBO. Rosenbaum’s writing partner Jane Whitney serves as co-executive producer.

Matt Damon Says Christopher Nolan Filmed a 60-Foot Cyclops Puppet in a Real-Life Cave for The Odyssey, Rather Than Just Relying on CGI

Matt Damon has revealed how Christopher Nolan depicted The Odyssey's Cyclops without resorting to 100% CGI.

Speaking via the Good Hang podcast, Damon revealed that the crew built a real 60-foot tall puppet of the Cyclops in a cave. Unlike a normal film production which would do all of this work on a soundstage or in front of green screen with a CGI version of the Cyclops, Nolan did as much of it in-camera as possible. The team built a set inside of a real location known as Psychro Cave, which is where Zeus is believed to have been born in Greek mythology.
