Meredith Conrow just bought a new Hyundai Elantra. More important is what she traded in: a well-worn Honda Odyssey minivan, showing more than 150,000 miles on the odometer.
Make no mistake, those miles did not accumulate solely from Conrow and her husband ferrying their four kids to school, sports, and social activities, though there has been plenty of that. No, this family likes to road trip.
McLaren has unveiled the 788HS, a high-performance version of the 750S that will be limited to just 200 units.
The twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 now produces 777 horsepower (37 more than the 750S).
The 788HS also produces 10 percent more downforce than the 765LT, with a new S-duct hood, front splitter, F1-inspired diffuser, and a raised active rear wing.
McLaren has revealed the 788HS, the latest in a lineage of mid-engine V-8-powered supercars stretching back to the 720S that arrived in 2017. If McLaren's alphanumeric names leave you confused, allow us to explain: the 720S spawned the high-performance 765LT in 2021, before being succeeded by the 750S. Now, it's time for the 750S to receive its own hardcore upgrade, and the new limited-production 788HS takes the formula to the extreme with more power and track-ready aerodynamics.
The electric CLA45 will be sold in both sedan and Shooting Brake forms and replaces the now-dead second-generation internal-combustion CLA45.
Unfortunately, a representative for Mercedes confirmed that the new CLA45 EV will not be sold in the United States, so we'll have to admire this one from afar.
Last year's Mercedes-AMG CLA45 S Final Edition marked the end of the luxury sport compact sedan's second generation. The send-off model was made in limited numbers, bore special graphics, and produced 416 horsepower. Roughly a year later, the AMG CLA45 has returned, this time as an EV with a trio of axial-flux motors in the place of the old turbocharged four-cylinder engine.
If you’ve ever wondered what would happen if someone crossed a Mini Cooper with a pickup truck, have a look at the upcoming Telo MT1. This miniature electric truck aims to be an electric alternative to tiny kei-class trucks imported from Japan—except, with as much as 500 horsepower on tap, the MT1 will blow the doors off one of those poky workhorses.
I'm not typically one to gawk at zillion-dollar, ultra-limited cars for the super rich because they're basically unobtainium. But dear lord this thing is pretty. And it's actually a really cool idea. In 1962, Giorgetto Giugiaro penned an open-top concept for Bizzarrini's gorgeous 5300 GT, but it never moved past the drawing board. At the time, the legendary Giotto Bizzarrini was focused on racing, having recently left Ferrari to start his own company, so while he loved Giugiaro's design, he decided not to move forward with production. Now, more than six decades later, Bizzarrini broke out Giugiaro's old sketch and brought it to life as the 5300 Aperta Lusso.
Even with all the power and modern technology available in modern supercars, 269 miles per hour is an almost-impossible speed to reach in an automobile on public roads today. And nearly ninety years ago, it was an engineering feat of astonishing proportions.
Deustche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft, or DTM, cars from the '90s just hit different. The boxy Euro sedan styling of the era worked so well with the flared wheel arches, squared-off front intakes, and big wings. A particular fan-favorite at the time was the Alfa Romeo 155 V6 TI DTM, which started life as a sedan but had its rear doors welded shut, gorgeous wheel arches, and a chin like Bruce Campbell. The 155 was already a good looking sedan but the DTM car was especially awesome and I wish I could drive one on the road. Luckily, I'm not the only one with such a desire. According to Top Gear, Italian company SGT Automobili just recreated the 155 DTM, surprisingly faithfully, using a modern Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio as its base.
If you're reading Jalopnik, odds are that you're a car enthusiast, and if you're a car enthusiast, you probably pay attention to the manufacturer-recommended fuel grade for your car. However, there are a hell of a lot of non-car enthusiasts out there who don't play by the same rules we do. So, as the delta between regular and premium gas prices continues to grow, more and more of them are forgoing higher-octane fuel for regular degular 87.
Lucid is offering zero percent financing for 72 months and a $10,000 credit on the 10Best-winning 2026 Gravity SUV.
The deal covers Lucid's remaining 2026 Gravity inventory, which remains fairly robust despite Lucid launching the 2027 model year several months ago.
According to a report by EV, the offer, which appears on Lucid's website, was promoted in an email campaign and requires customers to take delivery by July 31.
Lucid is offering a no-interest deal for a model, which, unfortunately, has garnered similarly low interest from customers. The fledgling EV automaker is offering its remaining 2026 Gravity models with a $10,000 credit as well as zero percent financing for 72 months, a report from EV shows.
