Very few fighting games are as historically important as Virtua Fighter. Street Fighter, of course, is the genre’s proud papa. But Virtua fighter was the first 3D fighting game. It pushed tech forward in incredible ways, and it’s been a pillar of the genre since. It also doesn’t hurt that the series is populated by some absolutely excellent games that have inspired a devoted community and one of the coolest competitive scenes in the space. But Virtua Fighter’s been absent from the scene for a while. Yeah, we got Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. in 2024 and its World Tour last year, but Virtua Fighter 5 itself is 20 years old. With the next game in the series, now titled Virtua Fighter Crossroads, Sega is at something of a…well, you know. What does it mean to be a Virtua Fighter game in 2026? How do you bring the series’ legacy forward while honoring what came before? One of the biggest mysteries in cosmology seems to keep getting bigger. Astronomers have known since the 1930s that the universe is expanding, but in the 1990s, the discovery that this expansion is accelerating rather than slowing down came as a huge shock to the field. Something had to be driving that acceleration, and dark energy was proposed as the cause. What began as a seismic shock in cosmology eventually led to a Nobel prize.

Rapper Yung Miami has signed with WME for worldwide representation in all areas. The South Florida rapper and former member of the City Girls will release her solo debut on the relaunched Uptown Records later this year. The album’s lead single, “Spend Dat,” topped the Billboard Rap Airplay charts and is currently at No. 17 on the Hot 100, and she performed it during the New York Knicks’ Championship Parade last month.
