The Field of Dreams movie site in Dyersville, Iowa, roared back to life last Thursday to host upwards of 8,000 fans, 26 Hall of Famers and VIPs like Theo Von to take in Major League Baseball‘s regular season matchup between the Philadelphia Phillies and Minnesota Twins. The high-profile outing, presented by John Deere and streamed live on Netflix, marked only the third MLB game to be played on the grounds where director Phil Alden Robinson filmed the beloved 1989 sports drama starring Kevin Costner.

Flock is the name on the lips of a lot of fed-up American citizens as of late, thanks to the litany of ways this dystopian mass surveillance company has angered the public and caused harm. Despite the vast array of blunders, including (but certainly not limited to) creepy cops using the database to track down and stalk their ex-partners, and even the wrongful detainment of a fellow automotive journalist, some people still think the cameras are a good thing. Now, new data shows that Atlanta, the city with over 5,000 Flock Automatic License Plate Readers (ALPRs), and the city that Flock Safety calls home, has not seen a meaningful decrease in its crime clearance rates despite an eightfold increase in the number of Flock cameras.
No one sets out to build a flop. Game development costs too much to justify anything but a genuine effort, sometimes at the cost of creative freedom. Even the industry’s true auteurs must eventually answer for their bold decisions. With so many safeguards in place, most games will at least do reasonably well. And with ongoing developer attention, even an early misfire like Cyberpunk 2077 or No Man’s Sky can eventually find massive success.
Following a busy summer in Fiji hosting season eight of Peacock’s Love Island USA, Ariana Madix has found her next gig.
The Emmy-nominated host is set to join the Broadway musical Just in Time, lead producers Tom Kirdahy, Robert Ahrens and John Frost announced on Monday. Madix will be playing Connie Francis for a limited run at Circle in the Square Theatre starting Sept. 12. Her final show will be Nov. 22.
