Ford has some big plans for the next few years, and that includes a new entity-level vehicle for its lineup. Currently, the cheapest way to get into one of the Blue Oval's machines is with the $28,990 Maverick XL pickup truck, but that's going to change. At a meeting in Las Vegas, Ford executives gave dealers a brief look at an early concept of an SUV that's set to go on sale in 2029 and cost somewhere in the neighborhood of $25,000.

An Abundance Of Distracted Drivers In Cleveland Caused First Responders To Add A Blocker Truck For Their Own Safety At Emergency Scenes - Jalopnik

"Is the scene safe?" is one of two of the most important questions first responders are supposed to ask when they are assessed by state proctors to be licensed to help anyone in an emergency. If a scene is remotely unsafe in testing or in real life, responders are told to ask for additional resources and help before helping anyone in distress. But that's difficult to do on a busy road or highway, and an increase in distracted driving or lack of awareness has posed a worse threat, enough that areas like Cleveland, Ohio, have purchased an additional vehicle dedicated to putting an extra, solid barrier between a car and first responders' lives.

Could you imagine stepping up to the plate for batting practice in the Bronx with the New York Yankees, or pushing in a tackle sled alongside the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field? Very few sports would even consider giving fans the opportunity to practice alongside their stars. Despite featuring a far more inhospitable playing field, it's a different story for Vegas to Reno, the country's longest off-road race. Desert racing isn't like other sports, or even other forms of racing. It's one part cutthroat competition and one part communal adventure.

Ford Is Reportedly Developing a Four-Door Mustang That’s Due to Arrive by 2029

Four might be Ford’s new favorite number. At a dealer event last week, Ford showed an early prototype of a Mustang sedan that would have four doors, hit 60 mph in under 4 seconds, and cost under $40,000, according to reports from the Wall Street Journal and Automotive News. Though a name hasn’t been confirmed, Ford has reportedly been calling it the Mach 4, which would align with a trademark filed in early 2025.

Porsche's Track Experience School At Laguna Seca Is More Than Worth The Splurge - Jalopnik

For my 16th birthday, my parents signed me up for a day at Skip Barber's new driver school, which I did just a few months after getting my learner's permit. Beyond just being fun as hell, it immediately made me a better and safer driver. I took another, more in-depth course a few years later, which left me even more confident behind the wheel. Professional driving schools are something I recommend to everyone, whether the parent of a teen or an experienced driver, but beyond the road-focused courses there's a whole world of on-track schools too.
