Spider-Noir may have been unceremoniously canceled after a compelling first season, but Nicolas Cage's turn as the spider hero will forever remain a classic and authentic entry in the noir genre. Truly, the Prime Video series is nothing like the live-action Spider-Man films that have preceded it. The show is much more similar to the films it’s inspired by (minus the web-slinging, of course). Being a hard-boiled detective story with morally ambiguous characters, all accented by moody lighting and a running inner monologue, Spider-Noir draws heavily from the genre known as “film noir.” Coming into prominence in the 1940s and 1950s, film noir covers a range of genres, but the movies that fit the bill are mostly crime dramas, often with a detective or private eye at the center. They're also fairly cynical in nature, as they depict a corrupt world informed by the desperation of the Great Depression and the horrors of World War II.

It’s a strange time to be selling a new VR headset, and maybe an even stranger time to be buying one. The supply of original virtual reality games has slowed to a dribble, and just as with Valve’s last hardware launch, the Steam Frame arrives covered in bumps and scrapes from a fight with the worst components shortage in memory. A fight which, judging by how it’ll cost ya £889 / $1,059 at minimum, it lost.
Valve revealed the Steam Frame, along with the Steam Machine and Controller almost a year ago in November 2025. And while it’s taken quite a long time for all three devices to make it to market, the Frame is finally here to complete the set. Right off the jump, the Steam Frame comes off as just another VR headset, and an excellent one at that, but in the two weeks I’ve spent with this thing, it’s become one of the best ways to play pretty much any game on Steam.
When Valve announced the Steam Frame, Machine, and Controller back in November, there was this undercurrent of hope that the company would release some secret new game to complement its new hardware. And, now that the Steam Frame is here, completing this round of Valve hardware, it's clear that there is no new game coming to support it. Instead, Valve is supporting its new VR headset with Half-Life: Alyx, the game that launched with the Valve Index back in 2019.
LEGO revealed its first set of book nooks back in June 2025. There were only three builds available at the time, all of which have been quite popular since their debut. Now in 2026 there are more LEGO book nooks and bookends than ever before and one of the originals is officially up for retirement.
