The beta for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 kicked off in earnest this weekend this weekend, with Infinity Ward commencing public testing of what we all hope is a return to form after the disappointment of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. And changes are already being made, with the developers releasing a new patch that makes a couple of mechanical tweaks while also adding a new map and mode.

The 5 Best Sci-Fi Movie Quotes of the Decade So Far

There are still a few years left in the 2020s, but it’s already been a fantastic decade for science fiction movies. The Dune films are likely the biggest highlight, as director Denis Villeneuve has finally brought the proper scale to Frank Herbert’s novels from the 1960s. The 2010s were certainly a better decade for the superhero sub-genre of sci-fi than the 2020s have been, particularly for Marvel Studios, but there have still been some breakout comic book films like Deadpool & Wolverine, Superman, and a trio of Spider-Man films. Even some non-franchise sci-fi films have managed to achieve greatness, like Project Hail Mary.

Chromatic aberration is made manifest in NECHROMIA, a high contrast survival horror set in a castle made of something else's memories

Light it up

Look, I love a PS1 horror throwback as much as the next whatever Gonzo is, but they don't all have to look like Silent Hill or Resident Evil, do they? There have been some aesthetic divergences in the renewed interest in the pseudo-genre, like with 2024's excellent and queer as hell Sorry We're Closed, but I'm hungry for more. Hence my interest in NEHCROMIA, a high-contrast survival horror set in a castle made of memories that aren't yours (a seizure warning is in order for the trailer below).

Another seemingly legit GTA 6 video surfaced today via Cyberleek, this time showing a couple minutes of high-speed driving through Vice City. The clip (which we can't link here, but you can probably find it quickly with some web searches) begins with protagonist Jason ditching a pickup truck and carjacking a "Truffade Thrax," a fancy sportscar that just happens to already contain a driver.

But make it incredibly British

I love the Fallout games, but as a genuine, original, one-of-a-kind British person, I've always explored the United States-based wastelands wondering what's going down across the Atlantic. I can now get an idea, albeit unofficial, thanks to the Fallout: London mod for Fallout 4, but what about elsewhere in these fine isles? Most of the United Kingdom is countryside, after all.

Get a taste of Chronoscript's visual charm ahead of the game's release

There are so many reasons to be intrigued about Chronoscript: The Endless End that it's hard to choose where to begin. There are the game's captivating visuals, which result from the characters and backgrounds being hand-drawn with pen and ink. Or perhaps you'll be drawn in by the score, courtesy of the legendary Yasunori Mitsuda of Chrono Trigger, Xenogears, and Xenoblade fame. Finally, the unique premise of playing as a stern editor trapped in a magical manuscript penned by a thousand-year-old vampire got me hooked immediately. But right now, the best reason to give Chronoscript a chance is that you can try the game for free.
