Now, let’s review each AI search visibility tool in more detail.

1. Semrush

Semrush is an all-in-one online visibility platform that helps agencies monitor and improve their clients’ prominence in AI systems.

Semrush’s AI Visibility Toolkit gives small-to-medium-sized agencies insight into their clients’ visibility and brand perception across AI search platforms, while Enterprise AIO offers large agencies broader, more comprehensive tracking for multi-market clients.

When I entered a brand’s domain into the AI Visibility Toolkit’s Visibility Overview report, it took less than three seconds to return data on the brand’s mentions, citations, and cited pages. I also viewed how mentions were distributed by country.

The “Topics & Sources” section in Visibility Overview provides information on:

Semrush Topics & Sources report listing monday.com’s top-performing topics, visibility, mentions, AI volume, and intent

The AI Visibility Toolkit also includes Brand Performance, which tells you about your brand’s share of voice and user sentiment toward it.

The Brand Performance report additionally provides strategy recommendations categorized by urgency. These insights are useful for improving user and AI perception of your brand.

An AI Visibility Toolkit subscription lets you generate two PDF reports combining data from Semrush and other analytics tools. Add-ons for extra reports and white-labeling are available.

Semrush Enterprise AIO is the platform’s offering for agencies needing enterprise-grade AI visibility tracking.

Pulling from a market-leading database of over 289M prompts, Enterprise AIO monitors visibility across 11 AI search platforms. It also provides AI Automations that help agencies with forecasting, auditing content, analyzing URLs driving negative sentiment, and more.

For example, the Brand Strengths & Weaknesses AI Automation audits AI systems’ perception of your clients’ brands to highlight strengths and areas for improvement. And recommend next steps for closing gaps.

Brand strengths and weaknesses report comparing SEO capabilities, pricing, AI visibility, interface, and backlink limits

Enterprise AIO tracks anywhere from 500 to 15,000 prompts per month depending on your specific setup. In contrast, the AI Visibility Toolkit tracks up to 25 prompts by default, with extra prompts available as an add-on.

Best for

Semrush is best for agencies that offer both AI visibility monitoring and improvement suggestions.

Key strengths

Limitations

While the AI Visibility Toolkit lets you set up client profiles in the Brand Performance reports, you need to run the Visibility Overview report every time you want to view a client’s holistic mention and citation data.

Pricing

Refer to AI Visibility Toolkit pricing and Enterprise AIO pricing for more information.

2. OtterlyAI

OtterlyAI provides one of the most budget-friendly solutions for tracking AI visibility across AI search platforms like ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, and Perplexity.

Agency features include unlimited client workspaces and increased prompt limits. These features are available from the second pricing tier (Standard) onward, which also offers unlimited team members and reports. At $189/month, this plan’s price point is highly competitive compared to similar AI brand visibility tools on this list.

To generate an AI visibility report with OtterlyAI, I gave the AI visibility tool information on a brand’s site, target country and language, competitors, and relevant prompts to track. It then took one and a half minutes to create a comprehensive report containing information like:

Otterly.AI brand report for Monday showing coverage over time, mentions, average position, rankings, and top prompts

OtterlyAI also generated AI visibility recommendations that I could act on directly or pass along to clients.

Best for

OtterlyAI is best for budget-conscious agencies adding AI visibility tracking to their service offerings.

Key strengths

Limitations

OtterlyAI lacks native white-label reporting. As a workaround, users on the Standard plan or higher can integrate the tool with Google Data Studio (formerly known as Google Looker Studio) to create branded reports.

Pricing

All plans include tracking for ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, and Microsoft Copilot. Google AI Mode, Gemini, and Claude tracking are paid add-ons with prices that differ by model, your base plan, and your billing interval. For example, Google AI Mode costs $9/month on monthly billing for Lite plan users.

3. Peec AI

Peec AI is an AI SEO tool that provides flexible AI visibility tracking across multiple client projects and up to 11 AI search platforms, including ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, and Perplexity.

Peec AI’s plans operate on a credit allocation model, where each credit covers one tracked prompt per model per day. Agencies can assign these credits across client projects and AI search platforms to match clients’ needs.

For example, Growth plan users who sign up for 25,000 monthly credits can use them to track 833 daily ChatGPT prompts or 416 daily prompts split across ChatGPT and Google AI Mode.

When creating a client project in one of Peec AI’s agency plans I provided information like a brand URL, location, language, products and services, target markets, audience distribution, and relevant topics and prompts. I also set up the number of prompts to track daily and my target AI search platforms.

After about 80 seconds, Peec AI generated data like:

Peec AI dashboard comparing monday.com with competitors by visibility, share of voice, sentiment, position, and sources

I reconfigured the report with the tabs at the top to measure my entered brand’s AI visibility against just one competitor. I also narrowed the report to prompts matching certain intents or topics.

Best for

Peec AI is best for agencies with fluctuating client rosters and tracking needs.

Key strengths

Limitations

While there’s a beta recommendations feature for improving visibility, Peec AI is primarily a tracking-focused tool.

Pricing

Seven-day free trials of the Essential, Growth, and Scale plans are available.

4. AthenaHQ

AthenaHQ helps agencies monitor and grow clients’ AI visibility across nine AI systems, and it also offers opportunities for client referrals and volume discounts.

I set up tracking for one brand in AthenaHQ by providing details like the brand’s domain, country, prompts, and competitors. I also selected the AI systems I wanted to track visibility for and configured my monitoring schedule.

In about six and a half minutes, AthenaHQ analyzed AI responses to 10 prompts and generated information on metrics like:

AthenaHQ Olympus dashboard showing responses, tracked sources, citation rate, share of voice, and model-level trends

After that, I navigated to AthenaHQ’s “Content” tab and had the tool’s content agents write new content targeting my tracked prompts. These agents can also optimize existing articles and recreate competitors’ top-performing content.

I then clicked the “Outreach” subtab under “Content” to view potential third-party sites for getting coverage on — to improve AI visibility.

Best for

AthenaHQ is best for agencies actively growing their client roster, because the tool may send leads to its partner agencies.

Key strengths

Limitations

Multi-country support is available only on AthenaHQ’s Enterprise plan, whereas various competing tools offer it on lower-tier plans.

Pricing

5. Profound

Profound offers AI visibility tracking across nine AI search platforms at pricing that makes it more suitable for agencies with larger budgets.

The Agency Growth plan includes 10 pitch workspaces and costs $99/month, but it requires a $399/month add-on per complete client workspace. As a result, agencies intending to use Profound can expect to pay at least $498/month.

I encountered difficulty securing a trial or demo, so I evaluated Profound using the information on its main website and knowledge base.

Profound’s Answer Engine Insights dashboard lets you view AI visibility scores for brands across AI systems and compare them against competitors’ scores. You can also track each brand’s share of voice.

The dashboard’s “Prompts” tab displays your tracked prompts. Which you can sort by visibility score to focus on prompts where your clients lack visibility.

The “Citations” tab shows the top domains and URLs that AI systems cite in answers to tracked prompts. Profound organizes the domains into source categories like “Owned,” “Earned Media,” and “Social” to help you identify the types AI favors.

Best for

Profound is best for large agencies offering comprehensive AI visibility management services.

Key strengths

Limitations

Profound’s agency pricing effectively starts at $498/month, making it less accessible for agencies on tighter budgets.

6. Scrunch

Scrunch tracks metrics like citations, sentiment, and topic-level visibility, and then helps agencies feed this data into custom client reports.

I had Scrunch generate an AI visibility report for 20 prompts by entering a brand’s domain and refining the tool’s suggested primary country, persona, competitors, and topics. Scrunch took about 20 minutes to generate visibility data for the first five prompts.

This data included:

Scrunch citations report for monday.com showing citation segments, citation owners, share of voice, and top cited domains

I could also create custom in-platform dashboard widgets with the wide variety of metrics, filters, and breakdown parameters available.

Scrunch’s built-in Agent Experience Platform lets you create AI-optimized versions of clients’ pages. These pages may give AI agents a more in-depth understanding of your clients’ brands to surface them more often.

Best for

Scrunch is best for agencies that deliver custom client reports covering AI visibility and other performance metrics.

Key strengths

Limitations

While Scrunch supports nine AI search platforms, only four are available on the lower-tiered Agency Core plan. Smaller agencies may find that plan’s $500/month price point less attractive as a result.

7. Brandlight

Brandlight is an enterprise-grade AI visibility management tool used by large, established agencies like Sloane & Company, Publicis Groupe, and LLYC.

Brandlight declined my request for a demo. So, I relied on its website to learn about its capabilities.

Brandlight supports visibility tracking across more than 107,000 locations, ranging from broad regions to specific locales. It provides insights into the overall visibility of brands and their sub-brands across AI search platforms like ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, and Perplexity. Brandlight also compares your visibility against competitors’.

Brandlight analyzes prompts to identify their intent, whether they mention your brand, and the websites that AI systems cite when answering them.

Agencies that partner with Brandlight can enjoy access to an AI strategist and co-pitching opportunities, among other benefits.

Best for

Brandlight is best for large agencies managing AI visibility for enterprise clients.

Key strengths

Limitations

Customer reviews indicate that Brandlight lacks a reporting integration, which may make it harder for agencies to generate reports compiling data from multiple sources.

Pricing

Brandlight offers custom pricing tailored to each customer’s requirements.
