Grand Theft Auto 3's Ghost City was my first proper experience of community discovery.
I was too young to fully appreciate game-breaking in the likes of Super Mario and Alex Kidd, so the idea of flying the clipped-wing Dodo aircraft from the runway of Frances International Airport at a very specific angle in order to break the 3D map and wind up in an otherwise inaccessible area—the section which housed the game's opening bank robbery cutscene, floating well beyond the playable map—blew my teenage mind.

After 11 movies in the Fast & Furious franchise, it can be hard to remember which one is which. Like, I know Ludacris and Tyrese Gibson go into space in one of the more recent ones, but I’m not sure which. I also recall Gal Gadot dying during a big showdown on an airport runway, but I have no idea what movie that is either.

Another horrendously hot Saturday, another wedding to go to. I am all in favour of love, but could we please reschedule it to a cooler day in the year? Mercifully this one's a London wedding and it can be reached and returned from on the tube. Though travelling on a hot carriage and not arriving looking like a boiled saveloy pressed into a too-small suit will be a challenge.

id Software was one of the studios hit hard by Microsoft's devastating layoffs and cutbacks across Xbox this week, but the developer behind Doom and Quake said Friday it will continue on, making games and developing its world-famous tech. The Texas-based studio issued a statement in response to reports that id had been slashed in half, and that “most (if not all) coders” at the company had been cut.

It’s hard to think of a time when superhero stories felt new. Over the past two decades, superhero movies and shows have taken over the entire entertainment industry. Somehow, comic book characters are cool now, a safe topic for water cooler chatter or something people might casually talk about at parties. It may sound surprising, but for many years this wasn’t the case. Superheroes were considered a kind of niche genre apart from heavyweights like Superman, Batman, and Spider-Man.
Multiplayer crime sandbox and massive money sink GTA Online is getting its first new heist mission in a little while next week, with balaclavas set to be donned on July 14th. The target of this shady op's is the art gallery dubbed the Kortz Center, which you might remember as the setting for that one Merryweather-battling mission with Michael and Trevor in GTA 5's main story.
